Hello my friends-
I am currently in the midst of re-entry. Andy and I returned from our trip to Alaska sandwiched between days in Seattle. We had such a wonderful week. Alaska is as pristine and beautiful (outside of the towns and more crowded areas) as you would imagine. We were on a cruise featuring Abraham-Hicks seminars, and so we got to have the luxury and ease of a cruise, with a big dose of inspiration and fun.
Being able to watch out our own little verandah for whales and snow covered mountains while watching the sun set (at around 1130 pm) was heavenly.
I am settling back in and trying to keep overwhelm away as I look at the weeds, and 5 little dogs needing haircuts, and mail to sort, etc. You can probably relate.
What are you doing to enjoy summer? Are there certain things that make summer feel special? I have always believed that rituals within each season help heighten our pleasure. Summer seems particularly filled with potential pleasures, and opportunities to indulge our senses.
Being connected through all of our senses is a recipe for pleasure, overall. What are some of your favorite smells of summer? What about your favorite tastes (that’s an easy one- I absolutely love watermelon, fresh mint, food from the grill- I could go on but want you to take a moment to think of your favorites). Are there certain places that really make it feel like summer to you? Like your favorite beach from childhood or taking a picnic to somewhere peaceful?
Because we are all aware that summer moves all too quickly, take a moment to jot down a list of some things you want to make sure to savor before the season ends. Or list your favorites among all of your senses. Just doing this connects you to the pleasure in your mind’s eye- it can be surprisingly potent.
I know that I want to get to my favorite wave-riding beach in Wellfleet, watch the meteor showers on August 12th, have another small dinner party or two, pick blueberries this week in my town before they are gone, and take as many swims as I possibly can before the weather gets too cool.
Let me know where you find pleasure. We are sensual beings, there are many many ways to find moments of indulgence beyond overeating.
I encourage you to find as many as you possibly can. Fill up!!!!
Happy trails-
Wishing you great love and every blessing,
xox
