I am about to launch an 8-week program called “The Lightness of Spring: Come Into Full Bloom”.
We’re in the midst of a typical New England winter, snowy and cold, a time when lots of people start to pack on weight resulting from less activity, craving starchier foods, and less daylight.
My clients are using the energies of the winter in a different way!
Winter is our season of dormancy. It’s the time when plants and trees and all of the nature-kingdom conserve their energies, and pull in more nourishment and quiet. It’s a time to bring energies inwards. In the seasons, it’s all in balance- conserving energies now allows energy to go outwards in growth and newness come spring. Makes total sense, right?
In the same vein, I encourage my beloved clients to also focus on replenishing and restoring their energies- so that they can bloom and come back into a more expansive energy come springtime. This is a time to “cocoon”- it’s the time of more rest and sleep, and to deeply nourish ourselves to restore energies so that like everything else in nature we can fully bloom when spring shifts the world into new beauty and growth.
It’s a great time to lose weight through focused self-care. Winter is not really the time to expand outwards, but to move towards home and hearth- people go out less, and tend to stay in more. It’s natural!
You can take some of this quiet time to deeply nurture yourself- journal-writing, meditation, prayer, and creating quiet sanctuary for yourself lets you connect to the rhythms of the season and your body.
Want more ideas? Stay tuned for my 8-week class, The Lightness of Spring:Come Into Full Bloom, starting later this month and arrive on spring’s doorstep March 21st ready to shine beautifully.
