I have to admit that more than any year I can remember I feel like I’m in a bit of a time warp…I cannot believe it is mid-December in spite of having my beautiful tree and other evidence of the season.
You can see a little photo of our tree on my FB page here you can’t tell but I have a major bird theme going on, love birds, nests, wings… as you can see by my website logo (and tattoo on my ankle… ahem)!
The Transition From Dark to Light
Aside from typical holiday type activities, I am more interested in helping you tap into the energies of the season in ways that support you. Next week is the Winter Solstice, which falls on the 21st and is the shortest day of the year- meaning the day with the fewest hours of daylight. If you are inclined, it’s a beautiful time to celebrate a returning to the light.
If you know me, you know that I love to use writing to create rituals.
Here is a way to Return to the Light for the Solstice:
Write freeform and without editing or judgment (this is important, otherwise it’s not going to help!) everything you need to release as the year comes to a close. Who are you holding resentments towards and for what? What are you angry at yourself for, and for what pray tell? Where might you be feeling disappointed, fearful, distressed around your life, circumstances, relationships, income?
If you can purge it onto some plain sheets of paper, you will in essence be “clearing out the darkness” from your energy, and making yourself ready for the Light to return.
And… I promise you will have moved major energy, will feel genuinely lighter and immeasurably better, and will also be able to reconnect with yourself and others in ways that fill you up.
Once you have written (and please, I urge you to do this for yourself, reading this article does NOT count as doing the writing, go get the paper and begin, it’s hard, but you suffer more if you don’t do it). it’s good to transmute the energy, get rid of the old dark stuff by putting it through the fire. Take it outside and burn it baby- light it up, you can put it inside an empty planter or kitchen pot for safety.
Say a prayer of blessing that you be cleared of all dark energies and that you are now ready to be filled with light and love. Amen.
Don’t deprive yourself of this.
As sensitive beings these rituals make a HUGE difference. Plus, you can do this ritual anytime you need a little extra light in your life.
As promised… here’s the “delicious” part,
my recipe for really healthy
Pumpkin Pancakes (1 serving):
2 eggs, beat with fork
Add 2 big T. of pumpkin puree and beat in, add dash of vanilla, dash of salt, cinammon, and nutmeg. Now add about an ounce of dry oats or I use gluten-free rice cereal. You can also add in some ground flax meal. just blend it all with the fork. Heat up your pan with a little melted butter or whatever fat you cook with, when pan is hot, add batter. Serve with more cinammon, a drizzle of real maple syrup or sliced fruit, or toasted almonds.
Let me know if you LOVE these on FB or Twitter !
Also, keep your eyes out as IntuitiveBody is going through major restructuring. We are putting some very different programs in place that have not been offered before. After years of working with women from the unique perspective that it’s being “sensitive” to other people’s energies and more intuitive that drive overeating, I am tailoring what I offer even more to meet your needs. It’s always my passion to provide exactly what will best support and guide you.
