The 2-Day Miracle, is a big tongue in cheek…but
This is not hype, this is a term my private clients and I use all the time.
It started when my beloved client “Olivia” (not her real name) was going through a rough patch with the food after having been doing really well during our work together. She had been binge-eating again for about a week and when she walked in one day her whole physicality and demeanor was depressed and miserable. All of her normal warmth and connection and receptivity was completely flattened. She slumped on my upholstered loveseat, looking utterly defeated.
I’ve seen that look before. New clients often look like that. And clients that are feeling “poisoned” from addictive or out of control eating look like that.
It’s very chemical and there are lots of ways to change it.
Hence the tongue-in-cheek but honest phrase “Two-Day Miracle”.
I know this shift really well- I have the same chemical sensitivities and vulnerabilities that my clients do. I tend to be sensitive (not technically allergic, it may not show up on any clinical bloodwork so this may not be a reliable way to assess this for you) to certain foods.
Some doctors refer to the foods that many are chemically sensitive or reactive to as “The Sensitive Seven” such as Dr. Mark Hyman of the UltraWellness Center, and Dr. Elson Haas in California.
The “Sensitive Seven” include:Wheat, Dairy, Eggs, Soy, Corn, Peanuts, and Sugar.
I know, it seems like everything you eat is made from something in there.
But when I have clients who are feeling crazy out of control, I suggest they eliminate either or both gluten or dairy for a couple of days.
When “Olivia” came back 2 days later for her next session, the transformation was profound.
Here’s the truth- I’ve seen this 2-Day, 2-Week, 2-Month, and so many other forms of miraculous shifts in women’s lives when they quiet their relationship with food, smoothe out their chemistry and find a beautiful new peace and way to live in their bodies, and senses and relationships and come out of shame and isolation…that is does seem like a miracle.
The chemical piece is just part of it, but it can bring fast relief by lifting the very real depression that food-reactions can be causing, along with anxiety, cravings, inability to stop binge-eating the things you are sensitive, hormonal challenges.
Food can be powerful medicine, and it can be poison.
You have to know your body and what works for you.
Sending you love and every blessing for health and your own miracles-
xox
