I just got home from Tory Johnson’s Spark and Hustle in NYC.
Note to Self- It’s always a good idea to leave home for a bit to mix and mingle with a. lots of other women, b. lots of other women that are in business for themselves, c. lots of other women that are in business for themselves and really passionate about being on the cutting edge plus uplifting each other and making time to have some fun amidst all the learning and uplifting.
I went to Tory Johnson’s first Spark and Hustle in Atlanta last summer because somebody was nice enough to gift me a discounted ticket that they had. I did not expect to fall in love, but I was on the rebound!
I had been coaching with some well-known online marketing coaches for a few years and was looking for something different- I was incredibly disenchanted with the hardsell and the inauthenticity masked as God knows what, and spiritual-laws and ridiculous crazy prices…for so little. Then there was Tory. So relaxed, available at every moment to everybody, no crazy scarcity games that some of the “gurus” play.
When you’ve been around the wheelers and dealers for long enough and you meet somebody so accessible yet so accomplished, able to bring together such a diverse fabulous group of women together and get them to really connect and support each other in all of the best ways… it’s very beautiful and it made a huge impression on me.
I wanted to learn whatever Tory could teach me and have done that in various formats this year. The most recent was the New York Spark and Hustle event last week, a 3-day immersion amongst 40 speakers all of whom shared their smarts and their savvy about what it really took to succeed. There was no magic ingredient other than serious hustle and a great love and respect for their clients.
The biggest lessons? There’s no overnight success, no magic, no making money in your sleep. I don’t know about you… but I LOVE hearing the truth. Even if part of me wants to kick and scream for a moment or two, I love the truth and I love integrity. I love devotion to clients and a willingness to be accessible and real. I love speakers that swear and are willing to share where they screwed up in addition to where they were glorious.
And I love, no… I adore Tory. Her vision for women entrepreneurs is something truly to behold. Her passion is real and it’s fueled by what she knows and practices and by her love for seeing everyone around her succeed. And it lights up a room with women who can spot their own glory… it’s truly a beautiful sight to see.
You shoulda been there. Hey… You CAN be there! Check out Spark and Hustle’s Website here. There are 5 more stops, including Boston where I’ll be speaking again. Don’t miss this tour if you have a business or are dreaming of having a business. This is not your selling-from-the-stage beg-a-thon. Spark and Hustle is for you every minute of it. Seriously, I hope you choose something beautiful for yourself and sign up.
I want that for you.
Wishing you love and every blessing, and prayers for our beautiful planet-
Lisa
