Catchy, and really true! If you are frustrated and in that painful energy of swimming upstream around your weight or if you think that the only way to resolve your issues around eating or is to slap a bunch of restrictions on yourself, think again missy!!!
The missing ingredient for most of my clients is often a big dose of daily inspiration. Weight and food issues can be so complex, and if you have any history of trying to deal with yours for any length of time, you will not be able to “fix” it from that place of struggle- it just doesn’t line up.
What I have found to be incredibly powerful, is to find ways to fill yourself up (get it?) with as much inspiration as you can find- It’s not difficult, it will always always feel GOOD (and that is how you need to feel to take care of your body and your heart) and it’s a pretty quick fix.
How do you find it? Great question… thanks for asking! I am the daughter of two really creative designer parents. So I am sort of freakishly turned on by beauty of any kind- it can be a stick or it can be a masterpiece. Truly. But since I don’t want to have to go looking when I really need my inspirational “fix”, I have been collecting beautiful images that always make me feel good when I look at them. I have 3 shopping bags filled with images that have inspired me over the years- plus it helps pare down any magazine build up around the house.I am really visual, so just pulling out handfuls of pages from my favorite gardening or home decor magazines, or others works really well for me. I also turn to these when I am daydreaming about colors to paint rooms, or re-paint rooms (another little addiction of mine…) or paint old pieces of furniture.
I also have a major collection of books about color, design, gardens- it works for me. In mild weather sitting outside watching the birds and the trees and being in the groove of Nature always inspires and soothes me. Music, the right kind in the right moment, totally works. I also love listening to Abraham in the car- I get so excited and inspired I sometimes have to pull over and take a couple of notes. Inspiration is the best feeling, it encompasses all of that good expansive energy that lets us know we are connected with our essential self. It mixes love and creative energies and love and optimism- potent and satisfying. For me , this trumps anything I could find at the candy counter, or whatever.
Being inspired and/or soothed is really good medicine. Friends are also very good for this. Calling friends whom I know I can count on for either creative connections, thinking up dinner parties, or those who always listen so generously when I am feeling less uh… inspired, can also bring me back to my Higher Self.
Dontcha want some of that too? Start collecting images, or quotes, or books, or audio of little pieces of inspiration for when you really need them, or any other time.
I want that for you-
Wishing you love and every blessing,
xox
