Slowing it all down is painful for my clients… they like the high of going fast and faster..multitasking, getting swept up. Believe me, I get it.
But what I have to remind everyone (and myself) all the time is that healing and all good changes tend to happen in slow-time.
Slowing it down enough to get conscious and reconnect means you can choose well. It means you can feel things, get the right kinda feedback to know if something is good or not so good- people, purchases, work decisions…You can’t get that feedback if you’re crashing around at high speed. Seriously…you can’t be moving fast and expect to heal or really grow or expand whatever it is that your heart is desiring because moving fast usually means you’re disconnected.
For my clients, disconnection is risky business. My beautiful intuitive tribe does not do well with feeling over-stimulated, in spite of the love of the “high” at times, that’s where you’re going to stumble and act in ways that are not going to feel good.
As in overeating, overspending, giving too much in relationships without filling yourself back up, working too hard… all of these things have an intensity to them that show you’re out of connection with your Intuitive Body.
Coming back into connection with your Intuitive Body, your wisdom, your guidance, all of the knowing that you were born with means you need periods of slow and quiet so that you can tune in and recalibrate everything.
Everything you want and need to know is accessible when you slow yourself down and come back into connection.
It’s not that hard to do. What’s hard is taking yourself out of the pace of the disconnection, the speeded up, banging around that is so easy to get used to (addicted to). In many ways we don’t really WANT to feel or reconnect.. we’re afraid to feel things, afraid to listen to our guidance and Higher Self, afraid we will have to stop doing things or give things up or make changes that we think are going to be uncomfortable…
Still- being out of connection with yourself is the ultimate painful. Trust me, oh trust me on this. I see women suffering when they are living without feeling embodied and grounded in their own guidance.
Come into the reconnect simply- just notice when you’re swirling- your thoughts may be racing, you may feel anxious, you may be trying to get too much done… it might help for you to just reflect a bit on what disconnected looks like and feels like for you. A binge is absolutely a sign of disconnected (nobody eats that way when they are “in” their body and grounded and in that good feeling safe and secure place..)
Put a hand on your heart. Put another one on your belly. Just this simple “laying on of hands” will shift you back into a reconnected state. Feeling your own healing touch slows you down… might get you to take a breath… it will feel a little like relief. Let your ribcage expand. Take a bigger breath…Feel all of your hormones coming into balance, your nervous system righting itself. Bringing your attention into your body quiets your busy noisy brain.
Slowing down makes room for hearing yourself. For knowing in any given moment what you truly need from a genuine, felt place.
Slowing down is never easy in this crazed culture of ours…the message is always to do more to be more. But you’re an intuitive girl, and going inside for your sources of wisdom and information is what is going to feel best once you get the hang of it. And it will save you from countless moments of impulsive eating, or binge-eating, or overspending or other addictive-like behaviors that come when you’re “out of your body”….(we’re not really out of our minds, we’re disconnected from our wise intuitive bodies that can FEEL what’s what).
I want that for you.
Wishing you much love and every blessing,
Lisa
